A sweet candy made with brown sugar & pecans. Pronounced PRAH-LEEN, never Pray-leen, New Orleans style creole pralines have their origins in 17th century France. They have become synonymous with the city of New Orleans, but can be found throughout the South from Georgia to Texas. It is a sweet confection named after the French diplomat, Cesan du Plessis Praslin. His last name morphed into the present “Praline”.
